Visiting the church
Parish church of Plumtree, Normanton
on the Wolds and Clipston
St. Mary the Virgin
At present the church is open every weekday morning except Monday from 9.30 until 11.30 am, and between 10 am and 12 noon on Saturdays.

We are delighted to see visitors, and if the kettle is not boiling it soon will be!

The vicar, the Revd. Malcolm Wainwright, is usually in the church on Tuesday mornings. If you plan to visit on a Wednesday, do remember that there is a service at 10.30 am. This is quite short, little more than half an hour, and afterwards there is a cup of coffee and the chance for a chat.

If these opening times aren't convenient, or if you would like an organised tour or to bring a group of people, please telephone first on (0115) 937 2635 or email to
Resources for visitors
Our free leaflet, 'Welcome to the church of St. Mary the Virgin, Plumtree', includes a plan of the church and points out the main features of the building.

A more extensive illustrated Guide Book is in the course of preparation.

If you are researching family burials at St. Mary's we have alphabetical and numerical lists to help you locate any grave. However, we do need advance notice so that these materials can be made available and there may be a modest charge.
