Although it was founded in the ninth century and its main structure was complete around 1400, St. Mary's was extensively altered and decorated between 1873 and 1875 by the well known Victorian architect G. F. Bodley and his partner Thomas Garner. Visit it by clicking on the box below.

The Church Organ has recently been rebuilt and we hope it will be good for another 100 years.
Unfortunately, in 2007 thieves took part of the copper from the church roof, allowing water to get into the organ loft. The damage has now been made good and we have taken precautions to prevent access to the roof.
